Diane Ungar is a 1980 graduate of the Fordham University School of Law. She holds her B.A. in English & Journalism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University.

She began her career handling real estate matters for the City of New York (including the renovation of the Bronx Zoo and Yankee Stadium, and establishing low to mid-income housing developments, such as HDFCs). She later was Assistant Vice President at Shearson-American Express where she handled all commercial office leasing for their East coast offices.

Ms. Ungar worked as Senior Legal Counsel at Time Equities, the largest co-op converter in New York City in the 1980s. She later began her own law firm focusing on real estate with particular expertise in residential co-op and condominium closings, as well as incorporating small businesses and reviewing and negotiating leases for office and retail spaces. She has also represented numerous coops and condominium boards at their closings and as legal counsel.

While practicing law, Ms. Ungar taught negotiating, legal writing and contract drafting at New York and Fordham University Schools of Law. She has been quoted in the New York Times Sunday Real Estate question and answer column, and has written on various real estate issues for the Apartment Law Insider, Coop-Condo Law Insider and the Commercial Lease Law Insider, monthly professional newsletters.

She is admitted to the New York State Bar and to the Southern and Eastern District Federal Courts. Ms. Ungar is also a qualified life coach, writer, photographer and violinist.
